Dr. James Militello
Dr. James Militello was born and raised in St. Augustine and attended area schools. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Hampden–Sydney College in Virginia. He then went to the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. His post–graduate training consisted of a Surgical Preceptorship in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Militello returned to St. Augustine in 1989. Health Park Podiatry was established that year and serves St. John's County. The practice specializes in treatment of foot and ankle problems. This includes diabetic wound care, sports medicine, a full range of surgical options that treat structural problems of the foot and conservative foot care. Dr. Militello has a personal interest in geriatrics as well. The practice consists of both office and hospital based surgery; and non-surgical options are always available. Dr. Militello lives in St. Augustine, with his wife Elaine, a nurse anesthesist, their daughter Molly, three dogs, two cats, and a bird. Jerry Lloyd Weed, Jr., DPM, MS
Dr. Weed was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Clemson University, and worked for the US Navy as a design engineer for several years before returning to school for his medical degree. He earned his medical degree from Barry University in Miami, FL with honors, as well as a concurrent Master of Science in biomedical sciences. Dr. Weed completed his residency training in medicine and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Cedars Medical Center in Miami, FL.
During his medical education, Dr. Weed served as the president of the American Podiatric Medical Student Association. He is the recipient of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Residency Forum Lecture Award and has lectured on numerous surgical topics at Barry University and various seminars. He also received the Outstanding Service in Community Podiatric Medicine and Barry University Excellence in Podiatric Surgery awards.
Dr. Weed has had extensive training in foot and ankle surgery including diabetic reconstruction and athletic injuries. He has worked with prep, collegiate and professional athletes using surgical and non-surgical treatments.
He and his wife Kathy, sons Jason and and Carson and daughter Grace are residents of St. Augustine. They are happy to be a part of the community and the Health Park family.

Emily J Ernst, DPM
Dr. Ernst was born and raised in Bettendorf, Iowa. She studied ballet professionally with several national companies before sustaining dance related injuries. She received her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Utah and her doctorate from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL. Dr. Ernst then completed a 3 year surgical residency at the James A. Haley VA in Tampa, FL. She is trained in complex forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, including total ankle replacements.
Dr. Ernst is happy to be in St. Augustine. She enjoys the beach, bicycling, and watching college football.
